The most common presentation of nerve pain is sciatica

Sciatica is a type of nerve pain that occurs as a result of irritation or compression of the sciatic nerve.

The sciatic nerve is the largest nerve in the body and runs from the lower back down through the buttocks and into each leg. Sciatica can cause a variety of symptoms, including:

  • Pain: Pain is usually felt in the lower back and down one leg, and can be described as a dull ache or sharp pain.
  • Numbness or tingling: Numbness or tingling may be felt in the affected leg.
  • Weakness: Weakness may be felt in the affected leg and foot.
